What was your main reason or goal for wanting to quit sugar for 30-days?

My main reason for quitting sugar was because I felt too dependent on it; after every meal, I had to have a little piece of chocolate. I was also really struggling with anxiety and sleep issues, and I was curious to see if sugar was affecting those issues as well.

Why did you choose the Sweet Liberation program to help you achieve your goals?

Because Alison Smith is a rock star! I knew that Alison had put a lot of time and effort into her Sweet Liberation Program, and that it was based on her own personal experience with quitting sugar. I also knew that she had had incredible health results after eliminating sugar, and I thought that she would be an awesome guide for this journey.

Did you experience any difficulties letting sugar go? And, if so, how did the Sweet Liberation program help you to stay on track?

In all honestly, I didn’t have any difficulties. However, discovering Alison’s recipe for sugar-free hot chocolate made me realize that you really aren’t deprived when you give-up sugar. There are so many amazing alternatives to curb that sweet craving, and discovering that fact was truly inspiring.

How did you physically feel before quitting sugar, and how did you physically feel after 30-days without sugar?

Before going sugar-free, I was just consumed with a lot of anxiety, bloat, and I had a bad breakout all over my face. After the program, I felt lighter from the inside out, my skin had cleared up and I felt more in control over my food choices. (Although that result wasn’t physical, it was certainly a bonus!)

What were your top 3 benefits of completing the Sweet Liberation program?

1. The program provide awesome content and resources that I still think about, often.

2. I felt lighter and less jittery.

3. My face cleared up.

Can you describe how your body physically changed throughout the program?

I was less bloated for sure, and I craved more water. This typically happens when I reduce or eliminate my sugar intake. By week one, my stomach was leaner, and by the end of the program, my whole body was leaner, too. I had less puffiness in my face, as well.

What were the best parts of the Sweet Liberation program?

The overall support and content was fantastic. Even though I knew a lot of the information already, it never hurts to get a friendly reminder.

Did you learn anything new about yourself during the program that you didn’t know before?

I discovered that I depend on natural sugars a lot. A teaspoon of honey in my tea; a date as a little treat; maple syrup in my desserts…it all adds up. Now, stevia is my new best friend.
