I wanted to take a moment this week, to welcome you into my world of sugar-free smoothies. Many people don’t realize that you can really enjoy a smoothie without heaping in any form of added sugar like honey, agave, maple syrup, or refined sugar.

So, if you just love thick and creamy chocolate milkshakes, you’re going to love this recipe for a sugar-free vegan chocolate smoothie. It ticks all the right boxes when it comes to indulging in a sweet chocolatey treat.

Creamy Sugar-Free Vegan Chocolate Smoothie

A quick and delicious way to have a sweet sugar-free treat: it’s thick and creamy, just like a chocolate milkshake.
Serves: 2

  • 1/2 can of organic coconut milk
  • 1 cup of sugar-free almond milk
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 3 tbsp of cocoa powder (raw or conventional)
  • 1 small pinch of sea salt
  • 15 drops of NuNaturals Alcohol-Free Vanilla Liquid Stevia
  • 5 ice cubes

  1. Into your blender container pour in the coconut milk and almond milk.
  2. Add the avocado, cocoa powder, sea salt, liquid stevia, and 3 ice cubes.
  3. Turn the blender on until the ingredients are mixed, smoothly.
  4. Add the remaining 2 ice cubes to the smoothie. Turn the blender on, one final time.

    mmm yumiii! It looks great. It’s a pity that with lyme disease cocoa powder makes me to have palpitations 🙁 Do you think there is another alternative? Do you know if there is some kind of chocolate powder without caffeine? I don’t think so…

      Yes! There is an alternative : ) There isn’t a caffeine-free chocolate, but this smoothie is just as good with carob powder. I LOVE carob; it reminds me of childhood. My mom would make me hot carob drinks (instead of hot chocolate). Substitute the 3 tbsp of cocoa powder with 2 tbsp of carob powder, instead. If you have liquid stevia, I would also recommend making hot carob with any milk of your choice. Sweeten it with liquid stevia instead of sugar.
