Behind the Scenes: First Coaching Program + First Film Shoot + Blooper Reel
I thought that it would be fun to give you a sneak peek behind-the-scenes here at AlisonSmith.com. Big things are happening, and I want you to be in the know. And, besides, isn’t it fun to see what happens behind the curtain?
For the last month, I’ve been in full creation mode. I’m producing my very first coaching program called, Sweet Liberation: 30 Days to Kick Sugar to the Curb.
For almost 3-years now, I’ve been living completely added sugar-free. The sugar that I consume is only from fruit. That means that I don’t eat honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, white sugar, high fructose corn syrup, coconut sugar, corn corn, or any other added sugar for that matter. And, now, I want to share my secrets on how to live a sweet sugar-free life with you.
Thousands of people are starting to realize how damaging sugar is to the body. As most of you know, I have a chronic illness called Lyme Disease (a bacterial infection contracted from the bit of a tick). I received antibiotic treatment for 2 1/2 years, and because of that, I had to live completely sugar-free. I didn’t even eat fruit. I was on so much medication, that if I ate sugar, or sugary fruits or veggies, I would experience terrible side effects.
So, going sugar-free for me, wasn’t a choice. But, I’m so happy that I had the opportunity to learn how to kick sugar to the curb! It has done wonder for my recovery.
Once I went sugar-free, within 2-weeks I realized how much better I felt. My diet had been so inundated with sugar, and I had no idea how sick it was making me feel, until I had to give it up.
Once I quit sugar, my energy level was much more even (despite the Lyme Disease); I wasn’t so bloated; I lost 10 pounds; my sleep was better; and I no longer rode the roller coaster of sugar highs and sugar lows. And, the best part, I was no longer directly feeding the Lyme bacteria.
I am so grateful that I had an opportunity to learn how to live sugar-free. And, now, I want to share what I’ve learned with you.
My First Film Shoot + Blooper Reel

Last week, my friend, Silvana, and I spent two days filming the 17 Tips and Tricks Video Series. It was so incredibly fun that each day was filled with oodles of laughter. And, I discovered that I just love to create how-to videos.
Over the last 3-years, I’ve gathered a mass of knowledge on how to live a sweet sugar-free life. In the Tips and Tricks Video Series, I will show you all of my best strategies.

Film Day #1
Organizing the film shoot was crazy! There was so much planning that had to take place, and I had to find a kitchen to film in. Luckily, my fabulous neighbours, gave me free-rein to their lovely kitchen. And, it meant that I didn’t have to travel very far. (And, thank God for that! I forgot so many things that I needed to run back home a couple of times.)
I had coolers and boxes filled with pots, pans, plates, glasses, spices, herbs, veggies, super-foods, wraps, breads, beans, rice, make-up, curlers, outfits, shoes, and food, food, and more food! I have no idea how my man, who is a chef, pulls-off huge catering events. The logistics of it all is an exercise in fierce organization.
I decided; if I’m going to pull this film shoot off, I’m going to need some kick-ass shoes (girls…are you with me?!)
Silvana and I, and my kick-ass shoes, set-up for Film Day #1 at about 10 am. The name of the game was to get as many videos shot in one take. We had no time to spend faffing about with multiple takes. I’m so proud that we were able to pull it off — 14 videos in one day!
I felt high afterwards. The day was so incredibly fun. And, the best part, the shoot was filled with laughter. We ended up with quite a few outtakes — enough to make a Blooper Reel! Want to see it? Click here!
I was exhausted by the end, but so exhilarated at the same time. I knew that we were creating something so useful for the Sweet Liberation program. I can’t wait for you to see all of the videos.

Film Day #2
Another day, another pair of kick-ass shoes to get me though.
We didn’t quite finish all of the videos, the day before. So, we decided to film, again, the next day. Which was totally cool with me — I love the process!
We only had 3 videos to shoot, on the second day, so we started-off by watching the previous day’s film footage. I couldn’t believe how amazing the footage looked — just like a TV show! And, the outtakes were hilarious.
We shot the last 3 videos, and took some head-shoots as well. The two days of filming were magic. It’s a memory that Silvana and I will share forever, and I’m so grateful for that.
Now, let me show you what we created! This is the very first time that I’m sharing a video of myself on the blog. And, I must say, it’s making me sweat!
